My Cozy Cosmic story got picked for Tor.com’s Reading the Weird series! I can’t think of a better way to descend into this delightful season of celebration and dying light.

This is great in so many ways.

First: I’m on Tor-dot-com!

Second: Tor.com’s Reading the Weird, is such a great series. Anne M. Pillsworth and Ruthanna Emrys manage to both have fun and reclaim Lovecraft. And we get to join them for this joyride through the Mythos! I’m super excited to join a list that includes many of my inspirations, like Wendy Wagner, Caitlyn R. Kiernan, P. Djeli Clark, N.K. Jemisin, Livia Llewelyn, and Jordan Peele. (too many to name!)

Third: The Cozy Cosmic deserves more love! What’s incredible is that Frances and Mark cranked out this entire quality project, from initial call to release, in a ridiculous short time. And there are so many great stories by amazing authors and mine is definitely not the best story in there–so far, my vote is for Simone Cooper’s “Gnocchi” (which is about gnocchi, not sourdough, and the Rapture, but Not the Rapture).

And many thanks to Ruthanna and Anne. I wanted more than anything to convey that sense of awkward but sense of belonging in found family and the ick factor from the toxic masculinity and corporate capitalism. And you found all the Lovecraftian easter eggs, and some I didn’t (consciously) think about. You’ve left this author with some cozy feels today.
