I was raised Jewish, am now a “frequent attender” at Brooklyn Monthly Meeting, and went to school in Salt Lake City….so I totally appreciate your perspective! Thanks for the articles!

You might be interested in a new website – atheistprinciples.tripod.com (see also the linked facebook group, ‘No, I don’t want to join your cult’) – created in response to several recent attempts by complete strangers to convert me to their beliefs. I decided to write and make available my own ‘pamphlet’, ‘A Brief Guide to Atheism’, so that in future I can give them something to think about in return.
I’d be grateful for any publicity/comments/etc.

John,

I stumbled on your anniversary/invite from stake pres post when I was trying to find NB stake pres contact info on Google. I read a comment on that post about walking away and letting things be but, as you probably know, there is no walking away from the church.
I’m trying…they keep finding me and won’t take no for an answer.

Is there a way to speak to you via email, privately? I would like to hear whatever part of your story you are willing to share so I know what to expect and how to go about getting off the “save her!” list I must be on.

John, I found you through the article “Saving the Dead” you did for the Nov. 2006 issue of Sunstone. I found the comparative study of post-funerary rites very interesting, and a neglected aspect of Mormon studies.

I just wanted to say I am a liberal Christian (best term I can come up with so far), and I mostly read “mommy blogs” when I spend time on the internet. (Mommy blogs, as you probably know, are way cooler than they are profiled in the media).
