Welcome to Day Two (of Seven) of the Tarot Randomizer Group Creativity Experiment!
Thanks to everyone who participated yesterday. If you didn’t and would like to join in, come join the party! If you’re tired or busy and need to go out on the balcony for a day or two, no problem. We’re easy like that.
Again, the premise is simple: I draw a card, and you use it to trigger some new creation–any creation.
I was overwhelmed (delightfully!) by the response yesterday. I tried tweeting each submission, but had to stop mid-day because I couldn’t keep up. I am editing a separate post with all of the submissions and will post it later this morning. I’m going to go ahead and post the new card so you all can get working!
If you want to skip the video, you can just scroll down to see the first card.
The rules are simple:
1) I draw a tarot card at random and post it here.
2) You use the card as a spark for any creative activity, as long as you send me a link to it (or a picture/recording of it) by the end of today. Please submit your links/work on twitter with the hashtag #MoFcGe or via the comments for this post. If you submit some other way (e.g., via FaceBook comments, in person, or via email), I may miss it.
3) I will post links to or excerpts of everyone’s work in a post tomorrow.
Here is the card for Thursday:

You don’t have to work off the symbolism, but Joan Bunning lists these key words for the Hermit: “Introspection. Searching. Guidance. Solitude.”
Also, the kanji character is “aki”, which is Japanese for “Autumn.”
Good luck to you all today–I can’t wait to see what your creative minds come up with!

Mine is the Princess of Wands, posted on my Facebook profile. According to a search, this card represents the element earth (which I am woefully short on right now); freedom from old restrictions; formation of new projects; passion and optimism….Now if I could just get rid of the migraine I woke up with, I might be able to BE her….
So….how might I create something new out of this card . . .
I declare that today I will lie in the sun, walk the earth-based path I have chosen, and act on the passion I’m feeling for my academic project.

My contribution for the day is now up on my blog. As usual, click on my name above to find it.
It’s a refletion today, maybe not epecially creative, but nonetheless something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently. It seemed appropriate, considering the day’s prompt, to put something down on paper (well, you know) about it.

Card 1 is the past. In your youth, or at least recently, you charged ahead, cutting out what was rotten or no longer of use. You cleared the way, rashly and abrasively, thinking you could do no wrong since a new broom sweeps clean – and if you’re left with a clear space where new growth can take place, who can complain about that?
Card 2 is the present. You have changed, and are more thoughtful now.You have aged. While you used to think that action was the solution, you now accept that thoughtful relfection is a valid means for making progress -and probably it is a superior method. The main question is: How will you use your personal creative energy?
Card 3 is the future. What will it be?

Here’s mine. I had a lot of fun with this, and plan to use it often.

This is somewhat of a cheat, mayhap, because it’s an older image, but I immediately thought of it: a self contained unit, is my daughter, who hermits herself in her room and seems so self-sufficient until she needs food:

OK, I created a blog just for this and I hope the link will work without you having to do anything special.
This post is I guess a chapter in something but I don’t know what. I was planning to write a straightforward description but then it turned into a story of sort and now I think I have to keep writing to find out what happens. Thanks a lot John. Now I’ll never get the laundry done.
