I am very bothered that a child was not allowed to go to a school because his parents were gay. That’s horrible.

It does kind of seem a spotlight week for lesbians.

In reference to the child that was booted from a Catholic school because both his parents are the same gender: The same thing happened here in Fresno a while ago (sorry; I don’t have a link), when a child was removed from school because his/her (can’t recall which) parent was a lesbian. The even more ridiculous thing about it was that the parent in question was very active in the school, did all kinds of fundraising and volunteering, and so forth. Was, in short, of great benefit to the school. But once they found out she was a lesbian, none of that mattered.

It sucks.

It’s true, I don’t know his sexual orientation, only that he’s chosen to [publicly] give up sex. He scans as gay. Not all priests do, but a surprising number do. That doesn’t mean that he is gay, but given the distressing number of conservative homophobes who have come out as self-loathing, I find myself questioning those who scan as gay and speak out violently against homosexuality.

I just watched the O’Reilly interview. It’s the one time I’ve actually cheered Bill on.

That said, I’m curious. Why is the priest “closeted”? I’m only going there because I know there are people who assume that because I don’t display stereotypical straight male characteristics, that my stated sexual orientation is in question.
