Related: [In]Equality Starts at Home & Equality at the Top Trickles Down

A recent article looks at the “traditional family structure” and how those areas which are not subscribing to it are doing better (economically speaking as well as in declining divorce rates). Arguing that “Inequality [of the Sexes] Starts at Home”, Carbone’s paper argues that gender equality starts there, too. A good and inspiring/uplifting read. via.

Extending this principle to the workplace, another article finds that the more women an institution has in its top-tier, the more likely the rest of that institution’s workforce is to be gender-integrated. I know that it is important to me as a female potential employee how many women have gotten to the top of any company I look at; even at school, it’s healthy/heartening for me to see female professors. This particular article only looks at educational institutions, but I cannot imagine that this is different in other industries. And in light of the prior article, the one seems to follow from the other. via.
