Sexual Assault Prevention Tips Guaranteed to Work! Brilliant:

3. If you pull over to help someone with car problems, remember not to assault them!

8. Always be honest with people! Don’t pretend to be a caring friend in order to gain the trust of someone you want to assault. Consider telling them you plan to assault them. If you don’t communicate your intentions, the other person may take that as a sign that you do not plan to rape them.

Imagine that. Putting the responsibility on the potential violator. You can read the rest here. Via xJane.

Thank you, John, for pulling this out of my Twitterfeed and posting it here. As you must know, I had thought of posting it, but had less and less time to do so…I appear to have reentered the black hole of law school again, even though I thought it wasn’t quite as black this year.

I really, really like this list and the shifting of blame. Especially the whistle (I have a friend who has a “rape whistle”)!

Th version on feministlaw professors leaves of this tagline that was on thr original on http://nonotyou.tumblr.com/

“And, ALWAYS REMEMBER: if you didn’t ask permission and then respect the answer the first time, you are committing a crime — no matter how “into it” others appear to be.”

Which is a good way to finish off. But yeah, its a great thing isn’t it? I’m gona keep a copy on me at all times to post when some jerk tries victim blaming on a comment thread.
