A Thank You to Bored in Vernal and CrazyWomanCreek.

Posted by John on October 3rd, 2009 at 12:04 pm · 7 Comments

I received this lovely, lovely gift from Bored in Vernal and CrazyWomanCreek. It’s too good not to share, and since they’re public figures in the ‘nacle, I wanted to thank them openly:

A Lovely Gift from BiV and CWC.

If you want to read it, click through to the photo’s page on flickr, and choose “all sizes,” and go from there.

BiV wrote the poem back in June, and CWC was responsible for the calligraphy.

“Blessed” describes best how I feel, to be on the receiving end of such kindness from such singular creative spirits. Thank you again, my friends.

So beautiful! Beautiful [linguistic] words and beautiful [calligraphic] words. I especially like the last line. May the Divine sit next to you all!

Loved this when BiV first posted it, and love CWC’s in-real-life touch.
    thanks for sharing this.

Yay! I’m so glad you got it. It was my girlfriend, Morgan Stanfield who did the calligraphy, my handwriting is…less nice! I’m sorry Cheryl and I didn’t get to give this to you in person at Sunstone- but it looks like I’ll get to meet Jana at the Mormon Women’s Forum- hooray!

    Love you John!
The title was originally “Dear John,” which was a play on words most Mormons will instantly recognize.

I had to hide my blog for a while due to family/Bishop concerns, so I’m glad you posted this and the poem is out there somewhere.

That’s very sad. I used to read your blog regularly even if I didn’t respond. It’s where I first read your beautiful poem and learned about John and his situation.
