Where is my god?

I was at an Italian restaurant with some friends recently when we started talking to some locals (the place had shut down, so it was just us all and the owners; we were all playing guitar, piano, and dancing—Europe is awesome!). One had a stone that looked almost like turquoise. When I asked about it, he said, no, it’s Atlantis stone because it only comes from Atlantis—the Dominican Republic is the highest mountain of the continent of Atlantis and when it sank, that was all that remained. I nodded, understanding at least about Atlantis. “Have you ever been there?” he asked? “To the Dominican Republic? No.” “No, to Atlantis,” he clarified, “In another life, perhaps?”
We then got to talking about Atlantis, about spirituality, about religion. “My god is [he mumbled something]. Have you heard of him?” “No,” I replied, running through lists of gods in my head. “Who is your god?” he asked, making me think that this was a wonderful way of putting it, “Skadi,” I said, thinking of the Norse snow goddess. “Where is he?” he asked, looking through me. I stopped, Skadi is a Norse goddess, perhaps comfortable in Germany but certainly not at home here. But she is always with me. “In my heart,” I said. His eyes brightened and he nodded:
“Exactly.”
