Nothing like locking children into gender roles when they’re young (then they’ll grow up to know their place).

I can’t even say how much I hate, hate, hate gender roles. In my opinion, they’re probably totally artificial, and certainly restrictive and harmful.

Wow! What is really scary is that this was not too long ago that people thought this way and taught this way!

Cute pictures, though. This reminds me of the little book my Mom was given by the Navy when she married my Dad.(Back in the mid-sixties) Talk about gender roles. There were lists of how she was supposed to act, not to contradict her husband in front of other Navy men, the correct order of pleasantries when having guests over whether it was just conversation over drinks or a full blown party. Women did their thing in the kitchen while the men did their thing in the living room, etc. Horrible stuff. My Dad told my Mom to ignore the book, which she did after trying a couple of times to live up to such impossible standards.
