This was the first song I ever heard by her and I fell in love immediately. I’ve been very disappointed by her recent work (basically everything after Scarlet’s Walk, and that one was iffy for me), but I still listen to the older stuff frequently. Thanks for a junior-high flashback.

I echo Chandelle’s thanks for the Jr high flash back. My brother gave me his old Tori Amos cds right before he left on his mission. I loved her music, but it made me uncomfortable because it made me question things. Nevertheless, it was a staple.

Oh, how I love this song. Tori Amos got me through all my High School drama. I gotta echo Chandelle in saying that everything post Scarlet’s Walk has been disappointing. Scarlet’s Walk was uneven at best, but it has some songs that can still get to me. Though for a response to 911 it fell far short of the expectations set by her earlier works.

I too have always loved her work. She’s really changed over the years - some of her later work I’m not as big of a fan of.
I think she’s one of those artists who people either love or hate - she inspires strong emotions. I particularly like the song “Yes Anastasia” on Under the Pink. “we’ll see how brave you are…”

I saw Tori in concert several years ago during the Little Earthquakes tour. I at in the front row less than 10 feet from her piano. She walked out, sat down, and started playing/singing “Leather”…
“look i’m standing naked before you
don’t you want more than my sex
i can scream as loud as your last one
but i can’t claim innocence”
During the entire first verse (above) she looked straight into my eyes. It was thrilling and unnerving at the same time. Her confidence made me feel like a weak little boy.
