Photo of the week: Zombie + Victim

My Zombie + victim, originally uploaded by mind on fire.

Just had to share a little Halloween love with everyone. Also, bragging rights: lifehacker, one of the most widely read blogs in the world (up there with Daily Kos, boing boing, the Huffington Post and Cute Overload) featured my creation along with a few others in a Halloween DiY post!

Somehow, I always knew that my 15 milliseconds of Internet fame would focus on my many years of perfecting the art of carving zombie pumpkins, and would have little to do with my insightful political commentary or my heartbreaking personal stories of being trapped by the Mormons.

  • haha, I think you’ve gotten more acclaim for the Mormon stuff than for this. But this is awesome! This is the kind of thing that people forward around and don’t know who created them.

  • That’s wicked awesome. Great job.

  • This is so cool John!

  • Hey, John. I got 15 milliseconds this week, too. Over at John Scalzi’s once-a-week blog at AMC, he quoted my nomination comment from I nominated “The Little Shop of Horrors” as my favorite B-movie in the science fiction genre at the same blog a couple of weeks ago.

Speaking of Scalzi, John, are you going to be able to make it to any of LosCon this year. Scalzi is the GoH this year. As far as plans are now, I’ll be there. Anyway, I’ve got memberships for myself and best friend, hotel reservations and train tickets in hand.

Oh, and I finally found out why Scalzi’s name was so familiar to me even though until recently I hadn’t read any of his fiction…a few years ago, he was movie critic and columnist for the Fresno Bee. So, I had read his work, after all, just not the fiction.

So, what do you think?
