If you're white, christian, straight and/or male, you most likely just aren't aware as to how different it is to be non-white, non-christian, non-straight, and/or not-male in our society. I can't understand why more people don't see how dangerous it is to allow any religion, EVEN Christianity, to exert influence in the political or secular sphere. Why people with extreme religious viewpoints like Sarah Palin's are actually taken seriously in national politics is beyond me. It’s just another example of how those in the majority (or perceived majority) are blind to the inequality inherent in our society.
