Spark: Lower-Income Voters

Over at Salon, for their series “Pinched: Tales from an Economic Downturn”, comes Our Cupboard Was Bare, an article that brings focus to the fellow Americans more adversely affected by the non-recession that we’re currently experiencing.

    Years ago, perhaps 10 or 15 years ago, I read a statistic in the Los Angeles Times. At that time, something like 20 percent of the homeless people in L.A. County had full-time employment but still couldn’t afford to both feed and house themselves and their families. That says something very bad about our society.
