This morning, between me and my daughter, aka CatGirl. This is pretty typical of our exchanges:
CatGirl: What’s that?
Me: This? Cream of Wheat.
CatGirl: More like Cream of Weird.
Me: You mean Cream of Awesome.
(I italicize my words when I talk. It’s a rare talent.)
CatGirl: You know, I don’t think I’ve ever tried Cream of Wheat.
Me: Here’s a golden opportunity.
CatGirl: Bleah. I’ll pass.
On another personal note, I just wanted to mention that Jana was discharged from the hospital today. She still has a lot of healing to do, and is essentially glued to the bed for the next week, if not more. She has a hole in her shin the size of my thumb that I get to keep packing and unpacking gauze into and out of, several times a day, until she heals. That this actually is optimistic tells you kind of where we were at before. Many thanks to all who asked after her and who helped us out!
