Per my initial outreach last week, I have created a new group on flickr:
The name, of course, is shamelessly stolen from the poem by Emily Dickinson. The purpose of the group is to provoke opportunities for creativity (I need the extra bit of discipline that comes from making commitments to other people) and to grow a tiny flickr community. Each member takes turn issuing small assignments to the members of the group. Finally, the group is structured so that both experts and newbs and people of various time commitments can participate.
Those who responded to the initial call already received my email, but if you are still interested in participating, but didn’t get a chance to respond earlier (or if we missed each other somehow), here’s what you need to do:
1) If you don’t already have one, you’ll have to go to flickr and set up an account.
2) Go to A Certain Slant of Light and click “Join.”
You can read the discussion to find out more about the group. I look forward to meeting your challenges!

I just checked out the group, and it seems really interesting. I’m going to join, but I’m having a baby on Friday, so I’ll have to not do the first challenge. I will post some baby pictures though.

oooh, love the poem & perfect for a shoot-off (which seems more appropriate than off-shoot) of MoF
can we have more than one entry for each challenge?

I didn’t realize where the name of the group came from. Incidentally, I just uploaded my first challenge picture and it includes an Emily Dickinson book.
