Darn you, Steve Jobs, darn you and your cheap 3G iPhone to heck:
How can you say that you are Buddhist when you are so good at spawning desire and attachment in this world? Our only hope is that you will be crushed on stage by a giant iPhone.
xJane, I may have to stop by your store some time in the near future…perhaps even in one month and two days…

Steve Jobs says he’s Buddhist?????
I’m looking forward to my iPhone. At this price, I might be able to afford one. What it means, is that instead of being attached to four different items in my purse, I’ll be attached to only one. Not perfect Zen, but closer

This came out right after I decided to finally end my contract with ATT because I thought other plans had better offers for webrowsing packages.
I guess I am going to have rethink things now as I read they would be decreasing their rate plans along with the Iphone prices.
In other words, I want one of these.

Steve Jobs is not spawning desire. We spawn our own desires and attachments. Jobs is, as everyone is, trying to live life to become happy. His means of this are not our means, but rest assured as a Buddhist he lives a challenging life balancing a spirtual and materialist path. There’s something about the teachings of emptiness that will help those who judge this man, understand him.

ah, but Gregory, it is human nature to blame everyone for a desire but the self (see: misogyny). We now have a 3G in the family and DH (a buddhist) is trying desperately not to desire it as much as I desire it (and it’s his, so…)

Although Mr. Jobs has traveled within India and has studied eastern religious tradition, he is–as am I–a declared athiest. That’s all beside the point anyway; let’s hope he recovers from his illness.
