Jana, I will look into it with enthusiasm -- I saw ads for it before on ScienceBlogs and assumed it was interchangeable with other science magazines.

Ahhh, good ol' Bad Religion. Not many Bands have moved me (either emotionally or intellectually) like Bad Religion. Listening to them has often been a balm for my frustrations with religion, politics, poor human behavior and dysfunctional family relationships, just knowing that I was not alone in my turmoils.....

Ah, Greg's intellectual side brought to punk rock music inspired me as a teen, and still does through Bad Religion's multi-faceted music and lyrics. Excited to see them perform at the KROQ Weenie Roast this Saturday. Great post.

John plays Bad Religion pretty frequently around chez Remy, and while it's not a band that I choose to listen to on my own, I find their music quite profound at times.

I'm becoming more and more fascinated by intersections of belief (humanism and science included in that umbrella) and art. One my my favorite magazines is "Seed" because it crosses and mashes together pop culture, science, and religion in increasingly provocative ways. If you haven't read it before, you might want to check it out one of these days.

Ahh, Bad Religion, how you move me.

I was just talking with a friend about some of this last night--when we are talking about life, what is more important than human connections? I mean it! What is more important? I can't find anything.

Not being as creative as Greg is, I can't say that the goal should be "creative and written" works along, but it should be about bettering people, whether through expanding minds, having conversations, or just giving validation in a meaningful way.

What is interesting to me is that if I have had anything close to a "divine" experience, it has been in connections with people. Whether is a group meditation experience, an intimate conversation, or the teamwork in hockey to score a goal.
