It’s been a stressful week. It’s time to watch an eccentric, alcoholic playboy kick terrorist ass in a high tech suit made of pure CGI. What could top this? Play some Black Sabbath in the background.

I rather enjoyed it, myself, and would probably see it again. It is not something I intended to deconstruct, either from a feminist, pacifist, or racist perspective (although I had my issues with the “relationship” between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts). Which is why I’m glad someone else did it for me. I disagree with some of the points raised but agree overall.

an update on the feminist breakdown of Iron Man
I have to reiterate my disagreement with some of her points: I saw it a second time recently & SPOILER ALERT the crash was not caused by the female driver’s flirting with Tony Stark (or if it was, it was not clear); there were some other points, too, that I specifically watched for that didn’t seem correct, but it’s a long flick & I didn’t have a notebook.
