George Carlin picks apart religious traditions & superstitions: “Suppose they hand you an upside down backward Chinese Braille bible with half the pages missing [for you to swear to tell the truth on]. At what point does all of this stuff just break down & become just a lot of stupid shit that somebody made up?!”

This is outstanding. I was just watching this on Tivo, and I was going to blog this precise quote. Instead, I shall tip my hat (and remove it in church - or not, depending) to you for quoting it first. I am so thrilled that he is so bluntly confronting common religious beliefs and skewering typical bullshit about being cared for from heaven, and god-given rights. Regarding that and the government ensuring that we all retain our rights, he refers us specifically to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_American_internment during his act. Very cool and actually much better than the special he did just a year or so ago.

    Well done.
