I just found out that, in Chicago every year, they turn the river green. What kinds of hideous chemicals cause this reaction?! Apparently, it starts out bright orange, which doesn’t make me feel better… *shudder*
Here’s to responsible drinking for everyone today, whether it’s green beer, green whiskey, or a regular-colored beer of choice. May it be safe, happy, and environmentally conscious.
Some thoughts on a green St. Patrick’s Day below the fold.

Apologies to GoComics & Bill Amend, but their links are only good for a week.

Did you notice in the Dem debates the new political buzzword phrase of “green collar jobs”?
Went out to eat with friends last night. We made a point of avoiding the Irish places. Nonetheless, our coconut shrimp appetizer arrived on a plate of radioactive green spaghetti.

that’s a pretty scary looking dish. A few years ago, I was asked to provide a green-colored baked good for a St. Patrick’s Day bakesale. I dutifully colored my Irish Soda Bread green. No one ate it :-p serves them right.
I just heard about this organization, which is the second time I’ve heard that phrase: green collar. I’m not sure what I think about it. Since obviously they could be blue or white.
