Campus Progress compiled a collection of links to one hundred studies about climate change and its effects on the world. Here’s a few.
First the good news:
The Northwest Passage is open for the first time in history! Claustrophobic ships can avoid the Panama Canal and long detours around South America!
We can wake up to headlines that sound like they were inspired by low budget science fiction movies: “Giant squid lead attacks by tens of thousands of jellyfish in acid ocean!”
You can now plant a lawn in front of that home of yours in Antartica! (may not sound like a good idea now, but wait a decade or three and you might have shirt-sleeve weather)
Now the bad news:
To compensate for the increase in floods, famine, pestilence, volcanoes(!) and war, we will soon lose:
French wines, Salmon, Lobster, Avocados, Koala Bears, Bulgarian Hookers (that should be in the good news) and the Ganges River.
