As previously discussed (although I can’t find it or I’d link to it, or just simply comment in it), I’m in mid-switch to Ubuntu Linux. Lady Murasaki is up and running. I decided it was an appropriate name given what (little) I know about her & since it means purple. Lady Murasaki is small & dainty…and purple. So thank you for the suggestions.
I did run into some confusion since the computer and the login are the same and this causes issues for me when I logged in the first time (I put in my password instead of my username since it looked like it was already in there…).
After some heartache, some time, and some soldering, I have (mostly) successfully installed Fiesty Fawn on the little Lady. Hopefully it’s not too fiesty for me. Once I figure out how to fix the screen resolution (and turn down the sound!!!), I’ll get around to making it look nice &, hopefully, getting the internet to work on it (oh, and maybe to display the battery life).
But I’m happy! I have my Ubuntu to play with, huzzah!

The original Lady Murasaki also created the world’s first novel–I’m sure this manifestation will produce some wonderful 21st century writings!
You are an inspiration on the computing side as well–I’ve got to spend some quality time with Ubuntu…

Is this your main computer?! It’s awesome that you are installing Linux. I have a server right now dedicated to web development that I would like to install Linux on - if I didn’t have clients that wanted to use Microsoft Technology, I would probably make the switch to Linux, mostly just because I love playing around with operating systems
Lol, I had to count on my fingers to answer the captcha math question.

I was driving and thinking about my ubuntu problems & caught sight of the world’s cutest elder god in my back window & thought “cthubuntu!” and then started constructing a logo to match it…oh, wait, someone beat me to it.
Lady is absolutely not my main computer. In fact, I’d have to go throught about 5 other machines before I’d be forced to use the Lady exclusively. But she is the most portable and I hope to one day use her for taking notes (say, in a class?). I don’t want to give up Mac, but I do want to branch out. So I’m dabbling in cthubuntu, which may yet swallow me whole.
