In discussing the changes that we were implementing to the site (and when I say “we” I mean “John”), Friday catblogging came up (we both live with two cats, meaning that we’re sadly behind on our quota of catblogging. Personally, I merely tolerate the kitties and, while I think they can be alarmingly cute, I’ve seen enough of other people’s children that I know better than to inflict my cats on you. If I had a dog (when I get a dog) you may be in trouble.
So we decided we should do Friday Teablogging, but decided that sounded a little too vulgar. So Afternoon Tea it is!
Today’s afternoon tea comes to you from Harney & Sons Fine Teas who, despite being ever so much better than Tazo, are the tea purveyors for Starbucks in Canada (possibly also the eastern US, I don’t recall), which is where I first met them. They have an entertaining white Earl Grey (would that be Earl White? Earl Dingy? Earl Not-that-Grey?) but that is not today’s tea, just an example of their scope.
No, today’s tea is Indian Nimbu, a slightly sweet Darjeeling with hints of lemon. The sweetness comes from a carmel flavor, which I’m not sure how they add unless there’s actual carmel (that would dissolve in hot water). There are actual bits of lemon peel. We received this as a gift along with carmel treats from Good Karmal. The tea really is good with carmel on the side but is also good on its own, as a breakfast tea, or as an afternoon tea with morsels of food on the side.
Now that I reread this post, I realize that our audience might not be the tea snobs that John & I are, so look out for future Afternoon Teas that will involve definitions of teas!
