If we were to apply this to religion, where would the loyalties lie? We know that Penn & Teller are purposely trying to mislead their audience, but is the priest purposely trying to mislead his flock? Maybe in some cases, but even a cynic like me believes that at least some priests actually believe in the magic they’re doing.
