Sorry this is late….
- Attend a city council meeting. Extra credit: say something.
- Write your senator or congressperson to thank them for a vote that you liked, berate them for a vote you didn’t, ask them to vote a certain way on an upcoming vote, or all of the above. Note that typed letters are not read as often as hand-written, but be sure to be legible. I always like to end with “I’m a [feminist, environmentalist, etc.] and I vote.” before the “sincerely”.
- Reevaluate your views & change your voter registration accordingly. Are you a Republican or a Peace & Freedom? A Democrat or a Libertarian? A Green…? ![]()
- Contact your state legislators, governor, or city mayor.
Let your representatives know who they represent. You don’t just vote, you have a chance every day to affect legislation. Maybe not much of one, but a chance none the less…

I’ve done everything on here with the exception of a city council meeting. I write my reps at least once a year, usually more. I changed my voter registration a long time ago to Independent. No one party holds all my views. I’m an army of one.
lol

Great challenge! It’s one that I will try to apply over the next few weeks.
Heh. pilgrimgirl is thinking of registering Green, and I’m considering the possibility of dropping Green to register Democrat.

I promise I’ll do that when a) I get a citizenship of an English-speaking country, or b) learn German.
