Or not. According to this quiz (h/t Mel), I’m a ’scientific atheist.’ It’s an odd little meme, painting me equal parts militant and apathetic atheist, and a little more theist than agnostic, but maybe it captures me in all my glorious inconsistencies. Still, I think Saint Sagan and Bodhi Asimov would be proud.
I like that the quiz draws attention to the fact that there are different kinds of atheists. Not all of us hate God and eat babies. Some of us prefer the taste of kittens.

Ah! Some of the coolest people in the world are Spiritual Atheists. Most of them weren’t brought up in an organized religion and have very little baggage. They concentrate on making the world a better place and know that death is just another part of life. What comes after, comes after.
Funny, I was brought up haphazardly in organized religion and sought out even more organized religion as an adult. Losing my religion brought it’s own struggle but I came out better because of it.

I took this for fun and out of curiosity even though I’m not an atheist and I scored “agnostic”. I loved the definition of agnosticism it gave:
I love it when spiritual and/or God-believing and/or Christian and/or athiest folks, etc etc etc, can all be willing to objectively evaluate proof and entertain the idea of skepticism.
On a side note, I was annoyed that they said “guys” in the description so I ran it through your he/she ratio and found out this quiz is 65% male, 35% female.

Not that I’m sure how well that’ll work - IIRC, I had problems last time I did a quiz MoF linked to and c&p’ed the results here.
As usual, a few of their questions betrayed the “mono-atheistic” bias, but I’ve grown used to that. It affected my results, but mainly in that “theist” would have been a good bit higher if polytheism had been allowed for.

Dittos to Elise (I got “down boy!”) on the gender thing and to Sunflower on the monotheistic thing. As usual with these kinds of things, I wish I had five bubbles instead of three: some of the things I agreed with but not as strongly as perhaps they meant me to.

I disagree though on the apathetic thing. I’ll show my point when people want to hear it, it’s just that some of my friends are really religious and I would never convert them, just as they would never convert me, this is how we’ve stayed friends for so long. I’m always interested in religions though, I think it’s fascinating, although I’m a devout athiest.
