Bored in Vernal wrote a commentary on the observation of Memorial Day that reflects my own ambivalence about the indiscriminate veneration of military dead. It’s too eloquent a mix of prose, verse, links and video to get buried and forgotten. As Quakers sometimes say: “This friend speaks my mind.”

Thanks for the link, John; and the comment on my blog. Sometimes it’s kind of discouraging when you write something you think is important and meaningful and no one comments–and then you get lots of action on the pictures of your bookshelves!!
