I’ve taken a serious look at my schedule for the near future, and between various crises at work and the grad school assignment build-up as I approach the end of the semester, I’m going to have to cut back on my blogging for the next two months. I promise not to go away–it’s emotionally trying when the bloggers I’m attached to disappear, and I don’t want to subject you all to that. (I’m not being critical of bloggers who do drop off–I recognize that there’s more to life than blogging!). What I intend to do is to opt for mediocre continuity over sporadic quality, at least in my personal posts: more links, questions and personal ramblings, and fewer essays and philosophical musings.
I also hate to place too much of the burden on Miko. To help us get through the next couple of months, I’m sending out a call for guest posts. I envision weekly posts, on the same day of the week, by our regular readers (you!). The main requirement is that they should fit the main theme of Mind on Fire: the exploration of doubt, religion, and spirituality. They can range from critiques to questions to analysis of current events to personal experience. They can be repostings of things you’ve already written on your own blogs. It may help to know that most of our readers come from a Mormon, Quaker or Christian background (even if they’re not there today).
Please send submissions to fierymind+guest (at) gmail (dot) com.

Are you going to keep the Wednesday challenge going? (say yes, pretty puh-leese).

I’m not sure I’m up to weekly posts, but I would love to commit to one or two guest posts. I will think about subject matter and get back to you, John.
I’m looking forward to getting to know readers better through their posts, too. This is a fun idea.

PG, I do plan on keeping up the Wednesday challenges.
Elise, thank you so much for your support. I was thinking that just one post each from a handful of readers would be enough, esp. those who regularly comment but who don’t have a blog of their own, or who might want to drive a little more traffic to their blogs.
Elaine, thank you. I love your thoughtful comments, and look forward to seeing your contribution.

John…I sent my contribution along last night; let me know if it doesn’t get to you so that I can resend.
