My passion for blogging kind of bottomed out a couple of months ago–I can trace it back to my “There but for the Grace of God… post and the emotional exhaustion I experienced dealing with the ironic violence that resulted. Sunstone West and end of semester projects depleted the rest of my energy.
The past week I’ve let myself just float, responding to work and family concerns, but doing little else. I’ve even watched a few flicks (I probably watch fewer than one or two dozen movies a year, both in and out of the theater). I’ve let my thoughts drift into and linger on the Summer, the LDS Church, and My Place in the Universe and Potential Purpose in Life. I apologize for the drop in both number and quality of posts, and I thank those of you who have continued to visit and make meaningful contributions to the little mind on fire community.
I’m excited for the summer. I am full of energy–I’ve got Thundercat and Transformers themes going through my head now–and I am ready for blogging action. (Not sure what my superhero shout would be–maybe “Pilgrim Power!” Probably shouldn’t put those initials on my super spandex though.)
Dreamer that I am, I’m full of Quixotic vision for the next few months: renewed devotion to my pilgrimage, two shelves of books to read, and an army of windmills to poke my joust into. I’m even considering a blogging schedule: I’m going to try implementing it first, before I announce it.
Anyhow, I think this is going to be a fun summer! Stay tuned for the next blogadventure, same Bat-URL…and here is where the metaphor breaks down.
