Made a few changes to the site design. I’m adjusting things on the fly, on the live site–I know this isn’t adhering to the best design or programming principles, but if I wait until I have the perfect development site, there wouldn’t be a mindonfire.com.
This time around, the major change is the addition of the top banner image. I’m curious about your reaction to it. Is it offensive, intriguing, bland, or just plain yucky design/art?
I was just playing with different iconography, and manipulating them in Photoshop layers. I like the convergence of my Western and Eastern selves in this final picture, and the sense that institutionally-based faith is being overwhelmed by the power of the natural world. It also evokes, in my mind, Biblical stories where Jesus calms the storm, and there are even little fishermen, terrified and bowing.

I like the idea of the top banner, but in practice your text is running over it and nearly impossible to read for the first few lines. Could use some adjustments.

I like it. It’s not as serene and simple as some of earlier desigs, but change is a good thing.
And because I’m a fan of Hokusai, I’m immediately drawn to the image.
