A few days ago, bill okayed the purchase of a pda, so i got me a sleek, shiny new visor edge.
already i’m quite addicted to it, in spite of all it’s quirks. i’m thinking of making this my wake-up alarm; i read my mission statement, goals, and daily to do lists first thing in the morning, in the dark, in bed, with the text glowing an eerie bluish-green; i take notes in meetings; i play shogi (japanese chess) and other games when i’m winding down in the evenings; i read and critiqued a story my wife was working on last night which she sent to me as an email; i do my daily scripture study on the visor now; i read the land of oz (sequel to the wizard of oz) to the kids for their bedtime story–they thought that this was pretty cool; and i read a cool essay by einstein while seated upon the porcelain throne. (now nobody will want to touch my pda! ![]()
even now, i am on my way to work, madly scribbling away in graffiti with my stylus. i never imagined i would ever code html (the hyperlinks in this post) using graffiti! i think i’m getting carsick.
some of what i have on my palm:
- the holy qu’ran
- emerson’s essays
- civil disobedience and walden
- the marvelous land of oz
- the bhagavad gita
- poems by emily dickinson
- the gospel of buddha
- the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy
- the book of mormon and the doctrine and covenants
- emma, by jane austen
- the first few chapters of les miserables
- taoism principles
- brave new world
- a kanji study app
- a guitar chord program
- a metronome
- space trader game
i am procrastinating my quest to throw off the chains of materialism while i enjoy cool new technological toys ![]()
