vision.

gandhi once said that you must be the change you want to see in the world.
when i think of people who are successful, like olympic athletes, the mother
theresas/dalai lamas of the world, great mothers and fathers, business leaders,
activists, etc., i think that they are successful in relation to the power of
their vision. gandhi had a vision of a unified, independent, caste-free indian
state, and this one wizened little man was able to realize much of that vision
during his lifetime. others carry his vision forward today.

visions vary in moral authority. hitler had a vision of a europe free of
jews. visions vary in scope. the protagonist of akira kurosawa’s ikiru fights
city hall to get a park built in the slums of his city. but the fact remains
that vision can be a powerful tool for change.

i gotta get me some of that::
